When you're asked to join a shared movie universe that's been going on for more than a decade, it makes sense to learn a little bit about it before you show up on set. This meant that Charlize Theron binge-watched the entire MCUmovies before her cameo as Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
The blockbuster movie, which is now streaming on Disney+, is the actor's third project in the last two years that is based on a comic book. The other two are The Old Guard and a short guest appearance in the Season 3 premiere of Amazon's The Boys.

Charlize Theron Binge-Watched The Entire MCU Movies

This year, Charlize Theron finally joined the world of superheroes. In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, she played Clea for the first time. Theron made a big impression in the movie's after-credits scene, which seemed to hint at a continuing story between her and Stephen Strange/Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).
We don't know when Theron will play her role again, but it sounds like she planned it out pretty well before joining the franchise. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Theron said that she sat down and watched all of the previous MCU movies, which helped her a lot with her role.
The simple answer to it is that it's everything that I've said about Old Guard. If I can find the anchor, then I'm never going to be a snob about, like, 'Oh, does this make me less of a powerful actor?' I was ignorant, I didn't know those [Marvel] movies well enough until a family who I consider, like, my adopted family had me watch them.- Charlize Theron
They're crazy Marvel fans, and I always used to make fun of them. Like, 'Oh my God, you guys are such f-cking nerds.' Then one spring break we rented a house and our kids were in a camp and they were like, 'You need to fucking sit down and watch.'- Charlize Theron
So, we watched all the movies, and I was like, 'Oh my God, they're so fucking good.' And the kids got in on it, too, and it was such an enjoyable ride.- Charlize Theron
And there's a mythology around it and it's been thought out over decades with Clea, and I'm challenged by that. Like, how do you reinvent that? So, I'm excited, but I honestly don't know what the fuck it's going to be.- Charlize Theron
It's not clear when this watch party happened or how many MCU movies Theron had to see in order to catch up. Did she see every episode of the Infinity Saga? Maybe more? Did the deal include the Disney+ shows?
We do know for sure that Clea, who is Dormmamu's niece and married Strange in the original comics, is aware of the danger that Incursions pose to the stability of the multiverse and needs Stephen's help to fix them
We wouldn't be surprised if the powerful sorceress played a big role in Phases 5 and 6, which are set to end with two big crossover movies: The Kang Dynasty (2025) and Secret Wars (2026).
Now, you can stream Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Disney+. The project's screenwriter, Michael Waldron, who also created and ran the TV show Loki, was a good choice to write the script for Avengers: Secret Wars. Phase 5 starts for real in March when Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania comes out.

Conclusion

One of the best actresses in the world is Charlize Theron. She was in a number of successful action movies. Mad Max: Fury Road and the Fast & Furious series are two of the most well-known.
With her recent appearance in Doctor Strange 2, she can add the MCU franchise to her long list of accomplishments. But at first, she wasn't really into the Marvel Universe.
In a recent interview, Theron said that her opinion of the movies changed after she binge-watched the entire MCU all at once with her family. Once she started, she couldn't stop. What happened next is history.
