It also included a racially insensitive jab at Elaine Chao, the ex-transportation secretary who is married to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky), whose name Trump misspelled.

Trump has sent his best wishes to "Strong American Patriots" and other loyal Americans. His New Year's message to "Radical Left Democrats, Marxist Lunatics," and Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell, included hints of irony.
