We all know that these tiny blue tablets may be a good companion in the bedroom, but it turns out that recent study links Viagra to lower risk of Alzheimer's. According to this recent discovery, these blue pills can also help you stay in better mental shape and reduce the risk of Alzheimer's by 70%.
According to a recent study published in Nature Aging, commonly used boner tablets may be used to treat the neurodegenerative disease Alzheimer's.
The study is based on healthinsurance data from more than 7.2 million people and was led by experts from the Cleveland Clinic in the United States.
The researchers employed computational approaches to identify biological or cognitive markers leading to Alzheimer's disease progression. Next, researchers led by computer biologist Feixiong Cheng explored which medications allowed in the United States could hypothetically assist against the identified causes using these indicators. Sildenafil stood out among the other substances studied as highly promising.

Due to its interactions with the amyloid and tau proteins, critical in Alzheimer's disease, a previous study suggested that sildenafil might have other health benefits. However, according to the study's press release, "the current research demonstrates that the interaction of amyloid and tau is more likely to lead to Alzheimer's disease than either protein alone."
The researchers noticed greater development and lower tau buildup in neurons treated with Sildenafil Power in other tests in which human brain cells were investigated in vitro to study how Sildenafil Power protects against the cognitive loss of Alzheimer's disease.
It's only the beginning, but that influence could be due to the insurance cohort's lower risk of having Alzheimer's disease. As a result, the team emphasizes following up on these hints.
"We're now preparing a mechanistic study as well as a randomized phase II clinical trial to assess causality and confirm the therapeutic benefit of sildenafil in Alzheimer's patients," Cheng explains.
"To speed up the drug discovery process, we want to extend our approach to additional neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's disease and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis."

The study was not conclusive, and the researchers noted that this does not suggest the medicine is entirely responsible for the lower risk of Alzheimer's disease. However, wealthier persons are more likely to be prescribed the medicine and thus have a reduced risk of being diagnosed with a degenerative condition.
The researchers are currently organizing a follow-up study to investigate the potential causality. If the link is proven to be real, it could pave the way for new treatments for neurodegenerative disorders like Parkinson's.

Last But Not Least

As entertaining as it is to discuss the main function of these tablets, the research released did point out that the blue bombers are used to treat a type of high blood pressure and get things going downstairs. In truth, Viagra was created by a group of Pfizer chemists looking for a way to manage hypertension.
