What Did Happen To The Woman In Delhi?
Early on New Year's Day, while the woman was on her way home from work, a car struck her scooter. According to news sources, the car's driver and its four male passengers continued driving the woman's body through the streets of outside Delhi for miles before stopping.
Given that road crash fatalities are among the highest in the world, the incident has horrified the nation and dominated headlines in India. Every year, some 150,000 people are killed on the highways.
On Wednesday, Manish Sisodia, who is the deputy chief minister of Delhi, said that what happened was a case of "severe brutality."

According to statements made by Sisodia and quoted by the Indian Express, "To think that the drivers did not see that a woman was stuck under the car is nothing but brutality and ignorance."

The provisional cause of death, according to an autopsy, was "shock and hemorrhage as a result of antemortem damage to the skull, spine, left femur, and both lower limbs." On the victim, it discovered 40 "antemortem external injuries."

Her family claims she was sexually assaulted and that when her body was found, it was naked. According to the police, the postmortem revealed no signs of sexual assault-related injuries.
The males said that because their windows were closed and they were listening to loud music, they were unaware that the woman's body was trapped beneath their vehicle. Allegations in the media say that they are guilty of homicide and caused a death through negligence.
Concerns have been raised about the police response. A witness who phoned the police, Deepak Dahiya, told NDTV that he tried to chase the automobile and dialed 911 more than 20 times out of anxiety. "It was too unsafe for me to stop the car." But I kept up with it and told the cops what I saw.The police didn't respond; perhaps they didn't think I was real. They could have identified the suspects earlier if they had shown initiative, he claimed. He said, "The automobile kept doing U-turns."
Despite having some 18,000 police officers and security guards on the streets for New Year's Eve, according to the Indian Express, authorities did not discover the woman's body until two hours after the first contact with their control room. Five calls regarding the event were made, according to police sources quoted by the publication.
Delhi Goverment Report
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which controls Delhi's government, rallied outside the office of the lieutenant governor, an appointment of the federal government, earlier this week to demand that he resign. At the same time, hundreds of people were protesting outside a police station to demand justice.
According to the AAP, the police have concealed the fact that one of the accused is a member of the government's Bharatiya Janata Party.
